A simple guide to using ASINSearcher to match supplier purchase offers to Amazon ASINs.

Getting Started

What is ASINSearcher?

ASINSearcher is a sourcing tool for Amazon sellers and buyers who work with supplier purchase offers.

You upload the supplier's purchase offer — a spreadsheet or PDF listing the products they are offering you — and ASINSearcher finds the matching Amazon ASIN for each line item, so you can decide what to source without spending hours in the Amazon search bar.

ASINSearcher currently supports Amazon.com and works across most product categories.

How ASINSearcher Works

ASINSearcher reads every line of your purchase offer and matches it against Amazon's catalog using the brand, title, model number, and any identifiers (UPC / EAN / GTIN) it can find on the line.

In simple terms:

  1. You upload your supplier's purchase offer.
  2. ASINSearcher parses each line item from the file.
  3. ASINSearcher matches each line to the most likely Amazon ASIN, with a confidence indicator and a list of candidate alternatives when the match is ambiguous.

You get back a line-by-line report you can review, export, and hand off to your sourcing team.

Account Setup

  1. Create your account.
  2. Start with the free plan.
  3. Upload a purchase offer and review the matched ASINs in your dashboard.
ASINSearcher does not require Amazon credentials or seller-account access.

What You Can Upload

ASINSearcher accepts the supplier purchase-offer formats you normally receive:

  • Excel — .xlsx and .xls
  • CSV — .csv
  • PDF — text-based purchase offers

Each row in the offer is treated as a single line item. ASINSearcher will pick up whichever of these fields appear on the line:

  • Product title or description
  • Brand
  • Model number / supplier SKU
  • UPC, EAN, or GTIN
  • Pack size, color, or variant attributes

The more of these fields the offer includes, the more confident the ASIN match will be.

Platform Features

Spreadsheet & PDF Upload
Upload supplier purchase offers as Excel, CSV, or PDF. ASINSearcher reads the line items directly from the file, so you do not have to clean or reformat anything first.
Line-Item ASIN Matching
Every line in the offer is matched against Amazon's catalog by title, brand, model number, and identifiers, and returned with the most likely ASIN.
Confidence & Candidates
Each match comes with a confidence indicator. When the result is ambiguous, ASINSearcher returns a short list of candidate ASINs so you can pick the right one.
Exportable Match Report
Download the matched-ASIN report as a spreadsheet — line item, matched ASIN, listing status, and the Amazon link — ready to share with your sourcing team.

You can review your uploaded offers, track their status, and open completed match reports from your Results Dashboard.

Creating a Match Job

Step-by-Step

  1. Open the upload page from your dashboard.
  2. Drag in your supplier's purchase offer (Excel, CSV, or PDF) — or browse to select it.
  3. Confirm the file looks right in the preview.
  4. Submit the job for processing.
  5. Track the job status in your dashboard.
  6. Open the completed job to view the matched ASINs and export the report.

Example Offer Lines

A typical purchase offer line might look like any of these:

Branded SKU with model number

Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 40 Men's Running Shoe, Black/White, Size 10 | Model: DV3853-001 | Qty: 24 | $52.00

Line with UPC

Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Headphones, Black | UPC: 027242923300 | Qty: 12 | $278.00

Generic line (lower-confidence match)

Stainless steel water bottle, 32oz, assorted colors | Qty: 100 | $4.20
Lines that include a brand and a UPC, EAN, or model number match most reliably. Generic descriptions still get matched, but with lower confidence.

Understanding Results

Each completed job returns a line-by-line match report for the purchase offer you uploaded.

What You'll See

A typical result row includes:

  • The original line from your offer (title, brand, identifiers)
  • The matched Amazon ASIN
  • The Amazon product title and a direct link to the listing
  • Listing status (active / inactive / out of stock)
  • A confidence indicator for the match
  • Up to a few candidate ASINs when the match is ambiguous

Confidence Indicator

The confidence indicator tells you how sure ASINSearcher is about a given match. Higher confidence usually means the line had a clean brand + identifier or a unique model number; lower confidence usually means the line was generic or only partially identified.

Use confidence to triage your review: act on the high-confidence rows first, and spend your manual time on the lower-confidence ones.

Candidate Alternatives

When more than one ASIN could plausibly be the right match, ASINSearcher returns a short list of candidates beside the top match. You can click into each candidate, compare them on Amazon, and pick the one that actually matches your supplier's product.

Exporting the Report

From the completed job page you can export the matched-ASIN report as a spreadsheet. The export includes every original offer line, the matched ASIN, the Amazon title and link, listing status, and the confidence indicator — so you can hand it back to your sourcing team or paste it straight into your buying spreadsheet.

Job Management

Job Statuses

ASINSearcher uses these job statuses:

Pending Your purchase offer was uploaded and is waiting in the queue.
Processing ASINSearcher is reading the file and matching each line item to an ASIN.
Completed Your matched-ASIN report is ready to view and export.
Failed The file could not be processed.

Failed Jobs

If a job fails, it is not charged.

Common causes are unreadable PDFs (scanned images instead of text), unsupported file types, or empty files. Re-export the offer in a supported format and try again. If the issue continues, contact support.

You do not need Amazon credentials or a Seller Central account to use ASINSearcher.

Limits

  • Supported file types: Excel (.xlsx, .xls), CSV, and text-based PDF
  • One purchase offer per job
  • Scanned-image PDFs (no extractable text) are not currently supported

Using Results

ASINSearcher is designed to speed up sourcing decisions, not replace them. Treat the matched ASINs as a strong starting point — always confirm the Amazon listing matches what your supplier is actually offering before placing a purchase order, especially for low-confidence rows.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does ASINSearcher do?
ASINSearcher takes a supplier purchase offer and returns the matching Amazon ASIN for each line item, along with the listing status, a confidence indicator, and candidate alternatives when the match is ambiguous.
Which marketplaces are supported?
ASINSearcher currently matches against Amazon.com only.
Which file formats can I upload?
Excel (.xlsx, .xls), CSV, and text-based PDF purchase offers.
Can I upload more than one offer at a time?
Each job processes a single purchase offer file. To match multiple offers, create one job per file.
How many line items can a single offer contain?
ASINSearcher is built to handle long offers — dozens or hundreds of line items in a single file. Plan limits, if any, are shown on the upload page.
Do I need to clean or reformat the offer first?
No. Upload the supplier's offer as you received it. ASINSearcher reads the line items directly from the spreadsheet or PDF.
What does the confidence indicator mean?
It is ASINSearcher's estimate of how likely the matched ASIN is correct for that line. Higher confidence usually means the line had a brand and an identifier (UPC / EAN / model number); lower confidence usually means the line was generic.
What if there are several possible ASINs for a single line?
When the match is ambiguous, ASINSearcher returns a short list of candidate ASINs next to the top match, so you can compare them on Amazon and pick the right one.
Will ASINSearcher always find an ASIN for every line?
No. Some line items are brand-new SKUs that do not exist on Amazon yet, and others are too generic to match confidently. Those rows are flagged so you can review them manually instead of acting on a wrong match.
Can I export the matched-ASIN report?
Yes. From the completed job page you can download the report as a spreadsheet — original line, matched ASIN, Amazon title and link, listing status, and confidence indicator.
Do I need Amazon credentials?
No. ASINSearcher does not require Amazon credentials or Seller Central access.
What happens if my job fails?
Failed jobs are not charged. The most common cause is a scanned-image PDF with no extractable text. Re-export the offer in a supported format and try again. If the issue continues, contact support.
